The Bhoomipujan’ was done at the auspicious hands of Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra in the august presence of Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Honourable Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Shri. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Honorable Minister of Energy, State Excise & Guardian Minister, Nagpur, Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Governor of Tamilnadu, Trustee, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Chairman, Nagpur Kendra on 20th January 2019.
The school commenced its first session on 15th July, 2019. Fresh faced students donned in their smart school uniforms and stepped on to this prospective campus, that we were about to share for so many years to come. The Teachers and Staff greeted the students with affection, with a promise of chiselling and moulding these little lamps to be the torch bearers of the future. The strength of the students from Nursery to Std IV was 551. We had 23 staff and 6 support staff.
The age-old custom of Rani Karnavati tying the sacred thread to Humayun to establish an everlasting bond of a brother and a sister, was kept flying high as the Bal Mandir students tied Rakhis and exchanged chocolates, while students of class I & II made Rakhis with decorative materials and tied and exchanged Rakhis and chocolates. The students of class III and IV made Rakhis with quilling material and were guided to use a seed which could later be planted to make our earth greener still.
The 73rd Independence Day of the Indian Union, was celebrated with much élan at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chinchbhuvan, Nagpur. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the much-acclaimed Dr. Rajendra Chandak, Executive Committee Member, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur. Smt. Annapoorni Shastri, Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nagpur Kendra, Nagpur, added to the brilliance of the event with her presence. Smt. Srimati Madkholkar graced the occasion. The National flag was hoisted at the hands of the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest, Dr. Rajendra Chandak’s impassioned speech enlivened all to be one with Mother Nature, to be united and invigorated the young and tender minds. The students of K.G II presented a short dance-drama, “Indian truce gladiators 1857-1947”, which revived the memories of the selfless freedom fighters who laid their lives for the country and the people. English and Hindi speeches were delivered stressing the importance of sacrifice and patriotism amongst the countrymen. It was followed by a patriotic song by the school choir, stating the happiness of being free and the relevance of freedom made possible by the great deeds of the Martyrs.
The Birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with lot of zest and spirit. The Bal Mandir preschoolers learned about the birth & significance of celebrating Janmashtmi through the various aspects presented by the staff of Bal Mandir. A musical programme depicting the birth of Krishna followed by a Radha-Krishna dance and “Matki-Phod” added to the colour and spirit of the festive celebration.
‘Hindi Diwas’ was celebrated from 16th September to 21st September 2019. With regard to this, the details of Hindi literature were presented day wise. Information about Aadi Kaal, Bhakti Kaal, Reeti Kaal and Adhunik Kal was given to the children. The week culminated with the students presenting speech and poetry recitals.
Gandhiji’s 150th birth anniversary was marked by earnest actions by the students of Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Chinchbhuvan Nagpur to bring awareness amongst children about the magnitude of work done by the Mahatma. It commenced with the Principal’s address to the students, who introduced this gallant soldier of non-violence and the schedule for ‘KARYANJALI: GANDHI IN ACTION’, that would subsequently follow. The students gave speeches both in Hindi and English. Throughout the week the ‘Thought ‘given in the daily school assembly were quotes from Gandhiji’s speeches and write ups. The ‘Information’ in the morning school assembly was from the Mahatma’s life. The children of standard I drew colourful posters and the students of standard II wrote famous quotes. Swachh – Bharat, a cleanliness drive was practised by the students of standard IV.
